Day off

I got this shirt in the fall and hadn’t worn it until this weekend. I guess I just forgot about it but now that I rediscovered it I can’t stop wearing it! It is the softest thing I’ve ever felt, which makes it absolutely perfect for lounging around on a day off. I felt like a total tomboy in this outfit too which was kind of fun. I mean, sure, I love a good dress or a skirt, but that being said, I’m really happy in sweats or basketball shorts and a tee or hoodie. I’m all about the comfy clothes, which is why, even when I’m not schlubbing around, I like my stuff to be comfortable.
And no, I didn’t edit that first picture to make me look way more tan than I am haha! It’s just that sometimes my flash goes on and sometimes it doesn’t and that’s the main difference in most of my pictures.

Doesn’t this outfit seem perfect for a chilly night at the beach? Because that’s the vibe I got when I wore it and even though I was wearing it to work, I felt relaxed and summery and…well, fine, you got me! I felt ready for a return to the beach! This Henley has become one of my favorite summer pieces. I know, how many times can I say that this summer? But it really is perfect. It’s lightweight but also has 3/4-length sleeves. See, it really is perfect for chilly summer nights!
Moving on, do you guys want to hear a fun fact about my necklace? Hilarie Burton wore it on last week’s episode of White Collar.
And yes, I did stand in front of my TV to get this picture haha! But isn’ that cool?

Let me just start by saying that I LOVE this outfit. Because I really do. It was the first outfit I planned to wear when I got the skirt but it took awhile to actually wear it (mainly b/c the shirt was sitting in the bottom of my hamper for a few weeks. Whatever, don’t judge me). But hell, my hair even behaved! Hair and clothes both working on the same day?! It’s like a miracle, you guys. And yes, I am addressing any guys who are reading b/c I know that all of my female readers know exactly what I mean when I say it’s a miracle to have the hair and the clothes working together. I will definitely be repeating this outfit. It was so cute for work and it was perfect to combat the A.C. but still be summery.
I thought it was summer?

Uh, I really did think that it was supposed to be summer. I mean, what the heck is up with the chilliness? I’d love to have more to say about this outfit but it was inspired solely by the thermometer! That being said, if I had lost the cardigan the outfit would have worked for summer…or at least for as summery as it was last week!

P.S. Don’t forget to enter my giveaway!!!
Chambray and linen

I keep experimenting with this skirt, trying to find different things to pair it with. And since the temperatures took a bit of a back slide last week I decided to try it with the chambray. Looking at the pictures, it feels like there might have been a bit too much volume with this outfit but I didn’t hate the overall look. And I really do like the idea of the linen and chambray so I think I’ll definitely be trying this again if I can find a fitted chambray this fall.

Double date night
Jeans, Madewell; Tee, Madewell; Necklace, Madewell; Bracelet, CC Skye; Toms, Nordstrom

This is what I wore when Boo and I went out to dinner with one of his coworkers and his girlfriend. Slowly but surely I’m meeting all of his friends’ significant others. I never really know what to wear for double dates when I haven’t met the other person yet. Sometimes I’m way over-dressed compared to what the other girls are wearing and while I’d rather be over-dressed than under-dressed, I’d really rather just be on the same level haha! I actually managed that with this outfit, which was a plus, especially because I really love this shirt. The contrast stripes make it really interesting, not to mention easier to match with more things, what’s not to like?
Boots and short skirts

Finally! At last! It’s about time! What am I talking about? I’m talking about an outfit that I came up with in my head that actually turned out in real life the way I envisioned it. And I loooved it. I felt sassy and cool and I love mixing my biker boots with girly stuff and what’s girlier than a floral skirt? Yeah, that’s what I thought. But I know what you’re thinking, I’m crazy for wearing biker boots in the summer. You are partly right. I say partly b/c these pictures may or may not be from a week or so ago. But I also say partly b/c I work in the air conditioning and I drive to work in the air conditioning and quite frankly, the boots don’t seem all that out of place once you factor all of that in. But they will probably be showing up less and less because there is nothing I like better than being barefoot (even in the winter, it annoys my husband to no end because my feet are always cold and then it becomes his problem when I put my freezing feet on his warm legs!) and sandals are as close to that as I can get.
Dressy stripes and another chance to rock my nerd socks

When I first saw this dress I thought “this will be perfect for summer!” And so far it is. I have a feeling that it will be made even better by a tan too! What I like about it is that yes, it’s dressy, but the blue stripes on the white make it feel so laid back and relaxed and, well, summery! The other thing that I really love about this dress is that I’m able to pair it with a LOT of different accessories.
