One of things that happens when you work in retail is that all of your shoes, at some point or another, will become worthless. It will seem that no matter what you wear, your feet and knees and back will hurt. And that’s why when I get dressed in the morning I generally pick out the shoes that I’m going to wear as well as the shoes that I want as my backup pair. This is also why I show up to work with the equivalent of a small suitcase. What? A girl needs her backup shoes, extra makeup, filtered water bottle, lunch and book to read during lunch.
