second shift

leave a comment »

I should probably remember that daylight savings actually…you know…affects the daylight.  So I’m sorry about the kind of grainy indoor shots.  My bad.

Since you are all smart cookies I’m sure you guessed that this is what I wore to my second shift.  Well, technically, it was my third, but the real second shift was only an hour of training and I didn’t take a picture of what I wore so I’m not counting it.  I’m liking work so far and can’t wait to really get into the swing of things, probably sometime after Thanksgiving.  I definitely need to acquire some new pieces for work though, and I’ll be honest, I’m kind of excited about that too!

My lucky interview shirt

with 3 comments

I have one shirt that I always seem to wear to interviews.  It’s a fun shirt and has a bit of personality so I wear it to the “fun” interviews, that is to say, the non-corporate jobs.  Funny thing is though, I seem to have gotten the jobs that I interviewed for wearing that shirt.  And what do you know?  I wore that shirt to my most recent interview and I got the job.

Starting today, after 13.5 months of unemployment, I am a working girl once more.  It’s not a 9-5 job and it’s not the cubicle life and that is just fine with me.  I get to be creative and I get to interact with people and that is what is really important to me.

Blazer, H&M; Top, Sweet Sample (sample);  Jeggings, Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s; Boots, DV by Dolce Vita “Ted” Boot, Nordstrom, Belt, American Eagle; Bracelets, Lisa Freede (similar style here)

I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it, but I’m starting to think that yes, that shirt may actually be lucky.

A vision in persimmon

On Saturday my big brother got married!  YAY!  I was actually in the wedding so there was no pressure trying to figure out what to wear haha!

Boo wore the same suit/shirt/tie combo that he did for our wedding.  If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?  And he looked just as handsome the second time around 🙂

And here’s a couple shot so you can see the lovely bride (my new sissy, yay!!!) and my handsome brother!
