Overall, I love this oufit*

*And you all should remember that you love me because when you see what I did with the pun in that title, well…just remember you love me, okay?

Okay.  Good.

Moving on.

Overalls, Madewell; Tee, Converse John Varvatos; Cardigan, Gap; Scarf, Urban Outfitters; Brogues, Cole Haan

That’s right people, I’m wearing overalls.  OVERALLS!  Can you believe it?  I’ll be honest, I can barely believe it myself.  I haven’t owned overalls in…let’s say 13 years?  Yeah, it’s nuts.  But I saw them, I tried them on, and I fell in love.  And it’s funny, you know, wearing them.  It all comes back to you just like riding a bike.  That flip you do where you throw yourself forward and in half to get both straps up over your shoulders at one time.  The tucking your straps into the pant leg while you pee so they don’t touch the bathroom floor and the subsequent looping of the metal hook part through your fingers and twisting your arm practically out of it’s socket to avoid dipping said strap into the toilet.  But there are advantages to overalls that you don’t really realize when you’re in middle school.  For one thing, you can eat for days and STILL fit into your pants.  Loves it!  And for another, these are great cramp pants.  That’s right, I said it.  These pants are awesome for those days when cramps are taking over your life and you can’t stand the thought of buttoning anything and skirts/dresses just seem like a bad idea but common decency dictates that you wear pants when leaving the house and sweatpants don’t count (what’s that all about anyway?).

I hope you guys all had an awesome Christmas!!

My new favorite sweater (and look, it’s even red for the holidays!)

Sweater, Madewell; Blouse, J. Crew Outlet; Leggings, Target; Necklace, Madewell (now on sale!); Socks (barely visible…sorry about that.  I swear they are peaking out of my boots though!), Target; Boots, Cole Haan

I love this sweater.  No, that’s not even strong enough. I LOVE this sweater. LOVE IT.  I had my eye on it forever and was so stoked to actually purchase it.  It’s comfy as heck, and cute to boot.  I’m simply obsessed.  And how convenient that it’s red, perfect for the holidays.  And the little bit of bling is a great festive touch to add.

I’ll be taking  a bit of a break for Christmas so I just want to say to everyone:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Parisian prep (except for my “end of day” hair)

Blazer, Madewell; Dolman tee, Madewell; Back-zip jeggings, Madewell; Necklace, J. Crew Outlet; Studded flats, Cole Haan

I felt so French when I got dressed for work this morning.  If only I’d remembered to take the pictures then instead of being forced into the bad “it’s too dark after work so I’m stuck inside taking my pictures” lighting.  Oh well.  It won’t be the last time, I’m sure.  Anyway, so what I liked about this outfit, other than the French prep vibe I felt, was the mix of black and blue.  The bad lighting doesn’t really show it but the blazer and flats are navy and the shirt is black/white stripes.  I love mixing those colors–especially because people always said you should NEVER mix black and blue!

Blouse, J. Crew Outlet; Tank (not pictured), Madewell; Leggings, Target; Oxfords, Cole Haan; Necklace, J. Crew Outlet; Belt, Urban Outfitters

This is the outfit that I wore for my first real day of work.  I know, you’re probably thinking, ‘hey, so you’ve mentioned a first day of work like…3 times now.  What gives?’  Long story short, my new place of business was closed for a bit so I had my “first day” of work at a location other than my own.  And now that it’s been reopened this is what I wore for my first day in my actual location.  I promise, NO MORE FIRST DAY POSTS!!

I love this outfit, I have to say.  And do you want to know why?  It felt like I was wearing pajamas ALL DAY!  It was awesome.  The sweater is long and technically a tunic but I scrunched it up and it made it super comfy and the jeggings are, well, the are self-explanatory in their comfy factor.  But the best thing about this outfit?  I’ll give you a hint:

That’s right, my fabulous new brogues!!  They are Cole Haan, technically called a cap-toe and I love them.  I lurve them.  They are cute and comfy (thank you Nike Air technology) and will be a welcome addition to my shoe rotation.
